Jubal Asma in the NW of Bayuda desert 15x40km the centeral mass of the mountain range has aring complex 5-6km in diamter as bassalstructure which is made up of alkali syenite and alkali granite and enclosed by ring dykes of syenite porphyry (in the S and
E) and quartz porphyry in the E and also tanggential quartz - porphyry dykes in the SE
OWING to the low morphological hardness of the coarsely crystalline plutonite
the extrusive super structure consists of felspar-porphyries (TRACHYTE PORPHYRIES
) alower succesion of pyroclastic rocks ( AGGLOMERATES TUFFSand trachytic lavaflows
which form the western spur of the mountain range the southern third containing the morphologically exposed peak and also the NE of the mountain range between W Asma
and W kabna. The younger rhyolitic lava flows are confined to the NW of the mountain btween W Rud el kebish and W Asma
AN ISOLATED RING DYKE OF QUARTZ PORPHYRYR ONLY 1,75 km in Diamter is EXPOSED TO THE NORTH OF W. ASMA as asubtrusion below the trachytic lavas.
